Why a treadmill under your desk?

An under-desk treadmill is the ideal way to make your workday more active and healthy. Instead of sitting still for hours, you give your body the chance to keep moving, without having to interrupt your work.

Research shows that walking regularly while working can help improve circulation, reduce back and neck pain, and improve mental focus. In addition, a treadmill is an effective way to burn more calories without even noticing it during the day.

Whether you're on a video call, answering emails or writing with concentration: with a treadmill under your desk you can stay moving without wasting extra time on exercise moments outside of work.

Treadmill for office or home workplace

Our treadmills are designed for both office and home office use. Thanks to the silent motor, you can continue to make phone calls or have meetings without disturbing your colleagues or housemates. This way, you can effortlessly add movement to your daily routine, without disrupting your productivity or environment.

For home workers, a treadmill under your desk is a great way to stay active, especially when you don’t go out as often. And in the office, a treadmill shows that you take health and vitality seriously.

Walking occasionally while working keeps you sharper, reduces stress and prevents the lethargic feeling that often occurs after sitting still for hours. This way you get more out of your working day, no matter where you work.

Our desk treadmills are easy to store

At WalkingPad we understand how important it is to keep your workspace organized and tidy. That's why most of our treadmills are foldable and have a compact design. After your workday, you can easily fold the treadmill and slide it under your desk, bed or couch. This way, it will never get in the way and you can keep your space neat and organized, even if you live or work in a small space.

Thanks to its light weight and built-in wheels, you can move your WalkingPad effortlessly. No hassle with assembly or complicated storage: unfolding, using and storing again is a snap.

Frequently Asked Questions About Under-Desk Treadmills

How fast can you walk on an under-desk treadmill?

On an under-desk treadmill, you typically walk between 1 and 6 km/h. This pace is relaxed enough to type, make calls and attend meetings. Most users walk at 2 to 4 km/h while working. At WalkingPad, the A1 Pro, C2 and Z1 offer a speed range of 0.5 to 6 km/h, adjustable via the remote control or the KS Fit app.

Does a treadmill fit under every desk?

A treadmill fits under most desks, provided the desk is high enough. For comfortable use, you need a sit-stand desk that you can set to standing height. The WalkingPad A1 Pro is only 12.5 cm high, so it fits under almost any height-adjustable desk. A standard sitting desk is usually too low.

How much noise does an under-desk treadmill make?

A WalkingPad under-desk treadmill produces less than 50 dB at walking speed. By comparison, a normal conversation is about 60 dB. So you can make calls, join video meetings or work in a shared space without any problems. The quiet motor and multi-layer damping system make the treadmill barely audible.

Can you work while walking on an under-desk treadmill?

Most office tasks are easy to do on an under-desk treadmill. Almost everyone can make calls, send emails and read right away. Focused writing or drawing may take some getting used to at first. For these tasks, most users slow down to 2 km/h and build up gradually. Alternate walking with standing or sitting work for the best results.

How many calories do you burn on a treadmill under your desk?

With a treadmill under your desk, you burn on average 100 to 150 kcal extra per hour at a walking pace of 3 km/h. Over a full working day with 4 hours of walking, that adds up to 400 to 600 kcal extra. The exact amount depends on your weight, pace and walking style.
